Clarence E. Keller, age 93 of 104 West Fourth Street, Sycamore, Ohio died at 8:20 P.M., Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Inn at the Westbrook, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on July 7, 1926 in Prospect, Ohio to Tracey and Nancy Grace (Deeds) Keller. He married Marilyn L. (Smith) Keller on June 17, 1954 and she survives.
Surviving are the following children, Gary A. (Yvonne) Keller, rural Sycamore, Ohio and Dean E. (Judy) Keller, rural Sycamore, Ohio plus six grandchildren, Angela (Rick) Breckler, Cristina (Chris) Wilt, Nikki (Tim) Dyer, Jacqueline (Steven) Hill, Ryan (Joni) Keller and Zachary Keller and fiancé Kalli Luhring. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, Carter Wilt, Ruby Breckler, Brady Wilt, Keegan Dyer, Amos Breckler, Brilyn Dyer, Bennett Wilt and Benson Hill. Clarence was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Keller and Gibson Keller and two sisters, Kathleen Schweinfurth and Virginia Everhart.
Clarence was the retired owner along with his wife Marilyn of Keller Hardware and Roofing for forty years. He was a 1944 graduate of Sycamore High School, member of the former Mohawk 60 Plus Club, member of the Mohawk Historical Society, former member of the Upper Sandusky Elks Lodge # 83, former councilman for the Village of Sycamore, was a former member of the Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for fifty-one years and also at one time was the Assistant Fire Chief, was a member of the Ohio Hardware Association and the Sycamore Businessmen’s Association. Clarence also served his country from December 7, 1941 to August 15, 1945 with the United State Merchant Marines.
For hobbies Clarence loved to work in his garden, read, do crossword puzzles and loved local history about Sycamore and the surrounding areas.
Funeral services for Clarence will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with Pastor Kristin Buchs officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22,2019 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
