Alma Smith Obituary

Alma R. Smith, age 90 formerly of Sycamore, Ohio died at 4:15 P.M., Monday September 17, 2018 at Orchard Park Assisted Living, Bucyrus, Ohio. She was born on February 6, 1928 in New Riegel, Ohio to Charles and Della (Frankart) Bouillon. She married Paul E. Smith in New Riegel, Ohio on October 3, 1946 and he passed away July 20, 1993.  

Surviving are the following children, Linda (Jerome) Gubernath, Bucyrus, Ohio, Jean (Robert) Hunter, Galion, Ohio, Paul (Deborah) Smith Jr., Florence, Colorado, Ronald (Barbara) Smith, rural Sycamore, Ohio, Thomas (Debra) Smith, Tiffin, Ohio, James Smith and friend Mike Brown, Coldwater, Michigan, Gerald (Wendy) Smith, McComb, Ohio, Daniel “Burt” (Darlene) Smith, rural Tiffin, Ohio and Donald “Pete” (Tammy) Smith, Sycamore, Ohio. Also surviving are thirty-one grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Paul (Evelyn) Bouillon, New Riegel, Ohio, Donald (Connie) Bouillon, Bascom, Ohio, Gladys Frank, Tiffin, Ohio, Anna Thiry, Fostoria, Ohio, Barbara Wise, Tiffin, Ohio, Marcella (Peter) Naderer, Fremont, Ohio, Mary (Kenneth) Riedlinger, Upper Sandusky, Ohio and Martha (Robert) Brickner, Marysville, Ohio. Alma was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, brother, Charles Bouillon, sister, Margaret Kobey, daughter-in-law, Evelyn VanHoosier Smith and son-in-law Larry Truka besides her husband and parents.                          

Alma was a retired assembly operator for twenty-four years at the former Millington Plastics, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. She also was a homemaker and at one time was the kitchen assistant at the Mohawk Sixty-Plus Club, Sycamore, Ohio. She was a 1946 graduate of New Riegel High School and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, Ohio. 

For hobbies she loved to crochet, loved to work in her garden and loved her flowers. She also collected Virgin Mary Statues and was well known for her homemade noodles.                                                                                            

A funeral mass for Alma will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore with the Rev. Nick Weivle and Deacon Jerry Gubernath officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21,2018 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio. A rosery service will also be held at the funeral home at 7:45 P.M. Friday evening.
