Ardis E. Blackburn

Ardis E. Blackburn, age 93 of rural Sycamore, Ohio died at 5:35 A.M., Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on June 7, 1928 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Lloyd and Bertha (Sneeringer) Frankenfield. She married J. Keith Blackburn on January 25, 1948 and he died January 5, 2004.

Surviving are the following children: Lloyd (Liza) Blackburn, Salt Lake City, Utah, Judith L. Hudson, Dallas, Texas, Wanda (Elliot Brown) Blackburn, Golden, Colorado and Jane (Lee) Schreiner, Grove City, Ohio. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Damien (Bianca) Schreiner and Sebastian Schreiner plus one great-grandchild, Pippa Schreiner. She was preceded in death by a son, Ed Blackburn, and a brother, Herbert Frankenfield.

Ardis was a homemaker, a 1946 graduate of the former Eden High School, member of the Plankton United Methodist Church, member of Eden Grange # 1705 and was a former deputy of the Wyandot County Granges for twenty-four years. She was a former pianist for Lemert, Oceola and Plankton Churches. She was a member of the Red Hats of Oceola and at one time was a volunteer at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.

For hobbies, she loved all kinds of music and playing the piano, doing crafts and jig-saw puzzles.

Funeral services for Ardis will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with Pastor Dennis DeLong officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. The family would like anybody coming to visitation or funeral service to wear a mask.
