Berlyn G. Geary, age 89 of 8650 South State Route 231, Tiffin, Ohio died at 1:34 A.M., Monday, July 17, 2023 at home. He was born on May 25, 1934 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Roy and Evelyn (Swerline) Geary. He first married Linda (Kentfield) Geary and they later divorced. He then married Kathleen (Huth) Geary and she died September 11, 1975. He then married Janis (Corfman) Geary and she died December 23, 2004.
Surviving are the following children: Kelly Hoover, Westcliffe, Colorado, Julie (Gary) Lescallett, Melmore, Ohio, Bonnie Ramirez, Tiffin, Ohio, Cindy Fleck, Findlay, Ohio, Karen (Richard) Wise, Tiffin, Ohio, Todd Geary, rural Sycamore, Ohio and Kimberly Hurley, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Berlyn has a sister, Bonnie Long, rural Sycamore, Ohio and a brother, Carl (Debbie) Geary, Burlington, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Shaw, son-in-law, James Hurley, a grandson, Michael Shaw, and a sister, Patty Geary.
Berlyn worked thirty-one years at General Electric, Tiffin, Ohio and farmed for over 50+ years. He was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church, a member of the Sycamore American Legion Post #250, a member of the Mohawk Historical Society, a trustee for the Pleasant View Cemetery Association, a member of the Indian Mill Antique Tractor Association, a member of the Car Coddlers Club, Pioneer Auto Club and Shelman Model A Club, and was a member of a local stockholders club.
He was an Army veteran having served his country from 1957-1959 having been stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He also in 2016 was on the Flag City Honor Flight which traveled to Washington D.C. with other veterans to visit memorials built in their honor.
For hobbies, he loved his antique cars, loved to mow yard, go fishing, and every morning going to the local gas station to have coffee with his buddies.
Funeral services for Berlyn will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sycamore United Methodist Church with the Rev. Amy Vittorio officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery where the Sycamore American Legion will conduct a military graveside service. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Sycamore United Methodist Church.
