Carol R. Thiery

Carol R. Thiery, age 63 of rural Rushsylvania, Ohio and formerly of Sycamore, Ohio died at 9:30 P.M., Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born on July 1, 1955 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Robert and Betty (Stallings) Richardson. She married Carl E. Thiery on June 15, 1985 and he survives.   

Surviving are the following children, Robert W. Thiery, Seattle, Washington and Megan E. (Kyle) Vaughn, Jacksonville, North Carolina plus one sister, Karen L. Richardson, Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Carol was an elementary School teacher having taught eight years at the Sycamore elementary school which was part of the Mohawk School System. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, Ohio.    

Carol was a 1973 graduate of Mohawk High School, 1977 graduate of Miami University, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendents. For hobbies Carol loved gardening, baking and doing genealogy.

 A Funeral Mass for Carol will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Shawn Landenwitch officiating. Burial will follow at Smithville Cemetery, Wyandot County, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio.
