David E. Rice

David E. Rice, age 78 of Sycamore, Ohio and formerly from McCutchenville, Ohio died at 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 8, 2022 at home. He was born on November 9, 1943 in Bucyrus, Ohio to William and Ellen (Durer) Rice. He married Suzanne (Schryer) Rice on May 28, 1966 and she died March 28, 2008.                  

Surviving are a daughter, Andra (Lance) Meyer, Hudson, Ohio, two grandsons, Mason and Andrew Meyer, plus a sister, Carol Turney, Columbus, Ohio. Later in life he had a companion, Marilyn Meyer, who he shared many good times. 

David was a retired accountant with Marathon Oil in Findlay, Ohio, having worked for them over forty years. He was a 1961 Upper Sandusky High School graduate and a graduate of Tiffin University. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville for many years where he served on many committees like consistory, being an elder and deacon of the church. He also was a former mason  belonging to the former Masonic Lodge in McCutchenville. 

For hobbies, he loved to go polka dancing, go to festivals and county fairs, loved going to the Amish Country, exercising at the Tiffin YMCA, and especially loved to go and watch his grandchildren swim, play lacrosse and basketball, and attend their band events.                                                                                                                               

Funeral services for David will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville with Pastor Elyse Cramer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the funeral service at the church.
