David J. Sigler

David J. Sigler, age 84 of rural Sycamore, Ohio died at 2:36 P.M., Thursday, November 6, 2025 at home. He was born on March 6, 1941 in McCutchenville, Ohio to Forrest and Muriel (Jordan) Sigler. He married Carolyn (Riedel) Sigler on March 9, 1964 and she survives. 

Surviving are the following children: Jana Snyder, rural Sycamore, Ohio, Joel (Nina) Sigler, Lewis Center, Ohio, and Jay Sigler, rural Sycamore, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Marjorie Glad, Athens, Georgia, two brothers, Raymond Sigler, Bucyrus, Ohio, and Mark (Betty) Sigler, Harpster, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Meacham, a son-in-law, Paul Snyder, and a sister, MaryEllen Cover.

David was a retired machine operator having worked at the Timken Company, Bucyrus, Ohio for 42 years. 

He attended the Union Salem Family Church, was a 1959 graduate of Mohawk High School, a social member of the Sycamore American Legion, and served in the Army Reserve.

At one time, David was President of the McCutchenville Alumni, President of the Mohawk Athletic Boosters, and an Assistant Coach for the Mohawk High School baseball team. He coached A league baseball, Pony league baseball, and eighth grade basketball. He held the county discus record at one time, loved to play golf, enjoyed racing stock cars, and bowled for many years. David collected coins and loved astronomy.

Funeral services for David will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore with Pastor Larry Bertsch officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
