Dennis D. VanHoosier, age 76, of 885 Wyandot Road, Bucyrus, Ohio died at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, October 13, 2022 at home. He was born on April 14, 1946 in Fall Bush, Kentucky to Everett and Cathern (Ard) VanHoosier. He married Rita (Corfman) VanHoosier on August 7, 1965 and she survives.
Surviving are the following children, Teena (Dan) Lohr, Bucyrus, Ohio, Kevin (Tammy) VanHoosier, rural Sycamore, Ohio, and Cathern (Scott) Williams, Stafford, Virginia. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters, Alice Valentine, Bucyrus, Ohio, Joyce (Rick) Sietz, Toledo, Ohio and Linda (Dan) Moyer, Tiffin, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Smith, and a brother, James VanHoosier.
Dennis retired from Timken Roller Bearing, Bucyrus, Ohio after working thirty years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, Oceola, Ohio, he also was a member of the Bucyrus Masonic Lodge # 139 where he received the Knight York Cross of Honor, he also was a member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge, charter life member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) and he was a 1965 graduate of Mohawk High School.
For hobbies, he loved old cars, going to a lot of car shows in the area, was a amateur ham radio operator and was an avid deer hunter.
Funeral services for Dennis will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with Pastor Carl Angel officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service.
