Dianne H. Tooley, age 87 of rural Sycamore, Ohio died at 11:40 A.M., Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Ohio Health Med Central, Mansfield, Ohio. She was born on May 8, 1938 in Sycamore, Ohio to Carl and Anne (Ballreich) Mercer. She married Wade A. Tooley on June 24, 1956 and he died September 4, 2004.
Surviving are the following children: Mark (LuAnn) Tooley, rural Tiffin, Ohio, David (Victoria) Tooley, rural Tiffin, Ohio, and Kristal (Eric) Distel, rural Tiffin, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Jaclyn (Matthew) Schalk, Nicole (Greg) Ammon, Jason (Tessa) Tooley, Kristyn (Joel) Wilkins, Shawn (Kristen) Tooley, Amanda Norwood, Gabrielle and Danielle Karns, and Celeste (Levi) Davia. She then had 16 great-grandchildren: Jack and Reis Schalk, Greyson and Dominic Ammon, Lena, Easton, Eli and Dawson Tooley, Graydon, Addilynne, Kensley, Charlytte Wilkins, Kenneth, Oliver and Vera Tooley and Karlee Norwood. Dianne also had two sisters, Connie Smith, Bucyrus, Ohio and Janet (Jack) Burks, Centerburg, Ohio and one brother, David (Martha) Mercer, Dover, New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Erik Tooley and Kennedy Norwood, plus one brother-in-law, Marion Smith.
Dianne was the Deputy Treasurer for Wyandot County for 30 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Sycamore High School where she was the class valedictorian. Dianne was a member of the Sycamore United Church of Christ, member of the Mohawk Community Club, past treasurer of the Rogers Lake Conservation Club, and past president of the Mohawk Music Boosters.
For hobbies, she loved going to all the grandchildren’s sporting events, doing crossword puzzles, and loved working out in her yard. She is also going to miss her cat, Trixy.
Funeral services for Dianne will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Darrin Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
