Donald L. Heilman

Donald L. Heilman, age 79 of Sycamore, Ohio died at 2:12 A.M., Monday, September 16, 2024 at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on March 11, 1945 in Carey, Ohio to Harold and Eunice (Roszman) Heilman. He married Donna (Duff) Brown Heilman on September 21, 1978 and she passed away on October 8, 2008. 

Surviving are one daughter, Kathy (Rick) Lucius, rural McCutchenville, Ohio, grandchildren, April (Pom) Kim, Rachel (Nathan) Smoot, Alex Randles and Cody Brown. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Jaela, Maebri and Grayson. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Brown, who died in October 2018 and a brother, Robert Heilman. 

Donnie worked for the former Don’s Siding, Tiffin, Ohio for 40 years and also worked for the Village of Sycamore.

He was a 1965 graduate of Mohawk High School, member of the Sycamore American Legion Post #250 and was a former member of the Tiffin Amvets and Tiffin VFW. He also served his country in the Army from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam Era.

For hobbies, Donnie loved to go golfing, do woodworking, play cards with his friends and family, bowled in several bowling leagues over the years, and loved to gamble. He especially loved to spend time with his family.

A graveside service for Donnie will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville, Ohio. The Sycamore American Legion Post #250 will conduct a military graveside service. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, October 4, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home.
