Edward "Ed" Schank

Edward “Ed” Schank, age 57 of rural Sycamore, Ohio died at home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1968 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Marion and Rose (Arend) Schank. Marion died in November 2023 and Rose survives in Sycamore. 

Surviving are two brothers, Bob (Cindy) Schank, Twinsburg, Ohio and Dale Schank, Wise, Virginia and one sister, Anita (David) Poole, Willard, Ohio. He also has nine nieces and nephews and six great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Schank, who died in 1986.

Ed was in shipping and handling for Toledo Mold and Die, Tiffin, Ohio having worked for them for 39 years. In the evenings and on the weekends he worked as a general contractor putting on roofs for people and anything else they needed.

He was a 1986 graduate of Mohawk High School, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Sycamore, and was a social member of the Sycamore American Legion Post #250.

For hobbies, Ed loved to go to tractor pulls, enjoyed NASCAR, going to country concerts, camping, canoeing and going golfing with family, but really just loved hanging with family and friends.

A funeral mass for Ed will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Rev. Matt Rader officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.
