Elsie L. Riedel

Elsie L. Riedel, age 80 of 110 Oder Road, Sycamore, Ohio died at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday. October 17, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born on January 27, 1943 in Norwalk, Connecticut to Helen (Connolly) and David and Esther Sniffen. She married Alton Riedel on July 11, 1961 and he survives. 

Surviving are the following children: Chris (Whitney) Riedel, rural Tiffin, Ohio, Whitney Taylor, Crestline, Ohio, Paige Hill, Bucyrus, Ohio and Tom Riedel, Reno, Nevada, plus eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Judy Bleeks, Vermont, Kathleen (Don) King, rural Sycamore, Ohio, Cindy (Dave) Myers, Sycamore, Ohio, and three brothers, David (Lori) Sniffen, Sycamore, Ohio, Kirby (Anita) Sniffen, Manassas, Virginia, and Melvin (Jeff) Wagner, Mansfield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gillis Riedel, and three sisters, Pat Goodman, Dolores McIntyre and Helen Sniffen.

Elsie was retired from G.E, Bucyrus, Ohio after having worked there for thirty years. Also, for the last fifteen years she worked at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in the kitchen.

She was a 1961 graduate of Mohawk High School. For hobbies, she loved to cook, sing, read books, go shopping and her and Alton loved to go to auctions and flea markets. 

Funeral services for Elsie will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. James Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20,2023 from 11:00-1:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
