Frederick Kachenmeister

Frederick Kachenmeister, age 83 of rural Vanlue, Ohio died at 8:20 P.M., Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at home. He was born on May 1, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to Ralph and Marie (Duckett) Kachenmeister Huss. He married Peggy (Puhl) Kachenmeister and she passed in 1973. He then married Dianne (Emerson) Solis on June 30, 2006 and she survives.

Surviving are the following children: Laurie Breitigan, Findlay, Ohio, Mark (Kylie)  Kachenmeister, Findlay, Ohio, Emily (Ledaniel) Mangas, Findlay, Ohio, Jeffrey (Katie) Solis, Findlay, Ohio, and Caroline (Garrett) Wright, Brooklyn, New York. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Olivia Mangas, Kaylee Mangus, Parker Braithwaite, Dean McMillan, Emery Wright, Michael Alexander and Ashley Alexander, plus five great-grandchildren and two great—great  grandchildren. He also has five sisters, Pam Teet, Toledo, Ohio, Cindy Ruggerio, Toledo, Ohio, Dawn (Nick) DiMasso, Toledo, Ohio Ann (Kyle) Prueter, Toledo, Ohio and Janice (Lenny) Mientkiewiez, Miami, Florida, plus two brothers, Marvin (Freda) Huss, Toledo, Ohio and Jim (Susie) Huss, Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by many other brothers and sisters. 

Frederick was a retired electrical engineer and was considered a great innovator in the steel tubing industry. 

Frederick was a member of the DAV, Findlay; Amvets, Upper Sandusky; American Legion and Eagles, Carey; Moose Lodge, Upper Sandusky; and Findlay Elks Lodge. He was quite a ballroom dancer and instructor. For hobbies, he loved airplanes, boating, snowmobiling, car racing on dirt tracks, drag racing, circle racing and off-road racing. He loved to design and build automated machines and was a great teacher and mentor. He also served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959-1962.

A visitation for Frederick will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio. Burial will take place at a later time.
