Genevie “Geny” A. Gregg, age 97 formerly of 164 Wayne Avenue, Bucyrus, Ohio died at 2:14 P.M., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Altercare of Bucyrus. She was born on August 15, 1920 in Wyandot County to Carson and Ethyl (Miller) Garvin. She married Forrest “Fordy” Gregg on August 6, 1940 and he died February 12, 2006.
Surviving are the following children, Joy Kear, Bucyrus, Ohio, Carol (Mick) Miller, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Albert (Deby) Gregg, Columbus, Ohio, Charles Gregg, Raleigh, North Carolina and two step-sons, Donald Gregg, Medina, Ohio and Gary (Helen) Gregg, Sycamore, Ohio. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gregg, two brothers, Russell and Paul Garvin and one sister, Evelyn Frank besides her husband and parents.
She worked twenty-five years at the former Foulk’s Drugstore, Bucyrus, Ohio and also was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Plankton United Methodist Church, was a 1938 graduate of Lykens High School, also played piano and accordion for years in her husband’s band “Forty’s Music Makers”. She really loved her music and family.
Burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio will be private but a memorial service will be held at a later date at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio.
