Goldie B. Strait

Goldie B. Strait, age 93 formerly of 3071 State Route 67 North, Sycamore, Ohio died at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on November 16, 1927 in Webster Mill, Pennsylvania to Lewis and Elizabeth (Fegley) Barnhart. She married Bennett Strait on October 2, 1948 and he died June 23, 2013.                                                   

Surviving are the following children, Patricia (George) Cunningham, Tiffin, Ohio and Gordon (Julie) Strait, Sycamore, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Eugenia “Jeanie” (Rob) Gatchel, Jody (Ron) Garnes, Christina Strait and fiancee Brandon Gaietto and Wesley Strait plus three great grandchildren, Morgan Miller, Alexa Gatchel, Ethan Gatchel plus two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Barnhart, Earl Barnhart and a sister Mary Lowans plus her husband and parents.                                                     

Goldie did office cleaning, personal cleaning for people, their washing, ironing and house cleaning. She also found time to babysit many children in the area.  Earlier in life Goldie worked at the former H & G restaurant as a waitress and cook for many years.                                                                                                

For hobbies, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting doilies and table cloths. She also loved to listen to country music and loved to go dancing and do some traveling.                                                                                                 

Funeral services for Goldie will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service.
