Herbert J. Zaenger

Herbert J. Zaenger, age 80, rural Tiffin, Ohio peacefully passed at home on Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was born on June 11, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Herbert and Jeannette (Lowe) Zaenger. He married Christine (Konieczka) Zaenger on September 24, 1964 and she died on November 14, 2024.                                    

Surviving are the following children: Jeffrey (Tina) Zaenger, Florida, Julie (Rod) Vogel, rural Tiffin, Ohio and Joel (Lorraine) Zaenger, rural McCutchenville, Ohio. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Brandee, Makenzie, Lee (Hannah), Katie (Shiloh), Sadie and Sarah. He also had four great-grandchildren: Cleo, Percy, Lane, and Lizzie. He had one brother, Norm (Gladys) Zaenger, Colorado, and a brother-in-law, Dave (Beverly) Pooley of Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Pooley.                                                                                                

Herbert was a retired press machine operator and a graduate of Springfield High School, Holland, Ohio. For hobbies, he loved to help his son farm, and drive his Camaro, Model T and motorcycle. He was very talented at fixing anything but really loved spending time with his grandchildren.                  

A memorial service for Herbert will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. James Stauffer officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held On Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
