James M. Babcock

James M. Babcock, age 77 of rural Sycamore, Ohio died at 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at home. He was born on March 15, 1947 in Sycamore, Ohio to Clifford and Katherine (England) Babcock. He married Barbara (Gallant) Babcock on September 27, 1969 and she died December 8, 2015.                                            

James is survived by his girlfriend of eleven years, Ollie Hill. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Myron Babcock and Ted Babcock, plus a sister, Mary Naugle. 

Jim was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. He enjoyed going coon hunting, turtle hunting and fishing. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era where he received a purple heart for his valiant efforts.

Jim’s wishes were to be cremated so a graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. The Sycamore American Legion Post #250 will also conduct a military graveside service.
