Joan M. Shellhouse

Joan M. Shellhouse, age 91 of rural Tiffin, Ohio died at 1:45 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital. She was born on April 25, 1934 in Bellevue, Ohio to Arthur and Justine (Hohman) Dendinger. She married Harold Shellhouse on November 3, 1956 and he died April 12, 2002. 

Surviving are the following children: Gary (Laurie) Shellhouse, rural Tiffin, Ohio, Daryl (Julie) Shellhouse, rural Sycamore, Ohio, Donald (Wendy) Shellhouse, rural Tiffin, Ohio, and Vicki (Scott) Hartsel, rural Tiffin, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Kirsten (Shane) Rodabaugh, Jarred Shellhouse, Stephanie (Matt) Miner, Andrew (Brittany) Shellhouse, Chad (Deidra) Shellhouse, Haylie (Seth) Ankney, Logan (Sydney) Hartsel, and Sidney Hartsel, plus nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Dendinger.

Joan was a homemaker and a 1952 graduate of Thompson High School. For hobbies, Joan loved jigsaw puzzles, quilting and especially embroidering as she made each grandchild an embroidered blanket. She also loved to can, do cake decorating, work in her garden and liked all types of flowers. She loved her cats and spending time with family and having visitors to the house.

Funeral services for Joan will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
