Judith (Judy) Miller went home to be with Jesus, August 8, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5, 1952 in Springfield, Illinois to E. Lucile Hehr. She moved to her mother’s hometown of Upper Sandusky, Ohio with her mother and her brother, Branson (Bud) Miller, who survives.
In 1969 she added a beloved sister-in-law, Sharon Miller who also survives.
In 1971 she earned the title of Aunt with the addition of her first niece, Cassie Miller. Over the years she added more nieces and nephews: Robin (Matthew) Conley, Carl Miller, Minnie (Trent) Danner, Kittie (Dustin) Alvater, Heather (Brian) Wilks, Andy (Beverly) Kirby, Kendra (Jon) Myers, Lacie Kirby, and Tiffany (Nick) Derr. She also had grand-nephews and nieces: Rowland Carlson, Mylon Carlson, Mason Danner, Shelby Danner, JayLynn Altvater, Andi Altvater, Rae Lyn Sherman, Robyn Wilhelm, Zendra Mellinger, Brianna and Alexis Wilkins, Wyatt and Clayton Kirby, Mackenzie and Tyler Weatherholtz, Levi Myers, Kirby and Gavin Courtad, Allison, Vincent, Eli and Noelle Derr. Aunt Judy was a title she was proud to wear.
She was also much loved by her longtime boyfriend, Franklin Kirby. As well as sister-in-law, Becky (Red) Williams and brother-in-law, Gene (Judi) Kirby and her life long friend, Maurine Denney.
Judy graduated from USHS in 1970 and Marion Technical College in 1993. Judy loved collecting teddy bears, cuddling with her dogs, baking, crafting ,bowling and playing Pokeman Go and geocaching. She loved having her friends and family stay at her house for “Camp Teddy Bear”. Judy was a proud helper with “No One Fights Alone”, a local charity who helps those fighting cancer and gave generously to them and other charities.
Funeral services for Judy will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore with the Rev. James Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like everybody who comes to visitation or funeral service wear your favorite funny t-shirt.
