Kenneth Hetzel Obituary

Kenneth (Ken, Kenny) Hetzel, of Tiffin, age 64, born March 8, 1956, beloved Husband, Dad, PawPaw, Brother and Uncle, passed away on June 15, 2020, after a stoic battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was a man among men whose life reflected his love of God, Family and Farming and who always welcomed all with a firm and hardy handshake.

Many will grieve his passing including his wife of 46 years, Linda, daughters and sons-in-laws, Amy and Shane McDannell, and Katie and Nathan Weaver. His special loves, grandchildren Drew, Brantley, Jace, and step grandson Liam McDannell, and Emma, Grace and Owen Weaver all of Tiffin. Sister and Brother-in-law, Sharon and Richard Gottwald, nephew Brian (Joleen) Gottwald and family, niece Kim (Curt) Cornman and family, all of Indiana. Nephew Lee (Donna) Wadsworth and family of Sycamore and niece Lori Wadsworth of Tiffin. Special family friends DD and Della, Jason and Mindy Fox and boys, and many others who have touched his lives in a long and lasting way.

He was greeted in Heaven by his son Andy, an angel grandbaby, his parents Harold and Annette Hetzel, sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Chancy Wadsworth, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and many, many very dear friends who went before him, and his faithful dog, Buster.

Anyone who knew Ken knew he was never one to put himself first, always asked how you were doing and truly cared and listened to your response.

He was a ‘roll up your sleeves’, do it yourself’ and ‘give it your best’ kind of guy. There was nothing too big or complex for Ken to solve or fix and his dedication and ‘get it done’ attitude ensured his successes in life.

Ken was a dedicated member and a long-standing Head of Trustees of Melmore United Methodist Church where his meticulous attention to the church building and grounds were done with quiet modesty.

We will celebrate the life of this humble servant, where he spent his life, at the family farm, date TBA, with Pastor Charlene Thomas, Pastor Amy Vittorio and Pastor Howard Huston officiating.

A private burial will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Melmore UM Church Fuel fund, Republic Trinity UM Church or to Stein Hospice in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O.
