Lee A. Geary

Lee A. Geary, age 71 of rural New Riegel, Ohio died at 9:23 P.M., Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Elmwood Assisted Living of Tiffin. He was born on April 7, 1953 in Tiffin, Ohio to Wilbur and Clara (Riedel) Starkey. They are both deceased. He was married and later divorced.  

Surviving are the following children: Shannon (John) Elchert, rural Tiffin, Ohio, Kristina (Donny) Egbert, rural Tiffin, Ohio and Heather (Wesley) Smith, rural Tiffin, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Jerad (Allison Huffman) Elchert, Kelsie-Alan (Grant) Cullen, Collin Smith, Braden Egbert, and Landon Smith, plus two great-grandchildren, Leo and Ashton Cullen. Lee also has a step-mother, Bernita Geary, rural Bloomville, Ohio and two brothers, Bruce (Deb) Geary and Don (Lynne) Geary, rural Bloomville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Geary, in 1983 besides his parents.  

Lee was a foreman for 25 years at the former American Standard Plant in Tiffin. He was a 1971 graduate of Mohawk High School. He also received the State Farmer Degree. 

For hobbies, he loved to bowl, was a big Earnhart fan, was an avid Ohio State fan, he coached girls softball from coach pitch thru high school, loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved to be out on the farm to help with the farming when he could, and loved his dog Sammy.

Funeral services for Lee will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore with Pastor Mike Ebersole officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
