Mary L Hoerig

Mary L. Hoerig, age 91 of 506 South Sycamore Avenue, Sycamore, Ohio died at 2:15 A.M., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on December 28, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio to Joseph and Christina (Decker) Birch. She married Marion H. Hoerig on February 13, 1950 and he died September 8, 1988. 

She is survived by the following children: Tim (Lori) Hoerig, Huntsville, Ohio, Cheryl (Edward) Schalk, New Riegel, Ohio,  Barry Hoerig, Scotts Valley, California, Richard Hoerig, Columbus, Ohio, Amy (Michael K.) Dunn, Sycamore, Ohio, Brett (Lori) Hoerig, Marysville, Ohio, and Peter (Ronda) Hoerig, Nevada, Ohio. She also is survived by twenty-one grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Joanne Langey, Fremont, Ohio. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters besides her husband and parents.     

She was a retired Activity Therapist having worked at Tiffin Developmental Center. She was a 1945 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School, was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, Ohio where over the years she served on many committees within the church and also was a member of the Friday Rosary Group. She was a volunteer for many years at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky, Ohio and she also was a member of Sycamore American Legion Auxiliary Post # 250. For hobbies Mary loved to crochet, quilt and work in her garden.

A funeral service for Mary will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio.
