Mary E. Romig, age 79 of rural Tiffin, Ohio died at 2:20 P.M. Thursday, August 14, 2025 at home. She was born on June 30, 1946 in Carey, Ohio to Raymond and Esther (Goshe) Kessler. She married Charles “Tony” Romig on October 18, 1965 and he died on August 24, 2016.
Surviving are the following children: Deb (Chuck) Malloy, Xenia, Ohio, Kelly (Daniel) Coffman, Mansfield, Ohio, Chris (Janet) Romig, Tiffin, Ohio, Michelle (Ed) Heyob, Dublin, Ohio and Nicole Stull (fiancé Jason Keefe), Tiffin, Ohio. Also surviving are twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She had three sisters: Rose Marie (George) Fox, Findlay, Ohio, Alice McDermott, Sycamore, Ohio, and Virginia Trytko, Findlay, Ohio, along with three brothers, Don (Linda) Kessler, Delaware, Ohio, David (Cathy) Kessler, Johnstown, Ohio and Mike Kessler, rural Tiffin, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, her brothers Harold, Gerald, and Jim, an infant brother, Richard, and two sisters, Margie Ruppright, and Patricia Wurm, besides her parents.
Mary worked for over 30 years for Betty’s White Glove Cleaning Service, Tiffin, Ohio. She was a 1964 graduate of Mohawk High School and a 1965 graduate of Georgeann Hair Academy in Tiffin. She was a member of the Tiffin United Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She also occasionally attended The Upper Room Tabernacle Church in Tiffin. She was a member of Allen Eiry Center, Seniors on the Go, and a member of the Silver Sneakers at Bodyworks.
For hobbies, she enjoyed painting at Artistic Accents, Tiffin, and also Stamp Camp, making greeting cards to send to families and friends. She also loved to make jewelry, do puzzles and loved having a rose garden.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore with Pastor Ava Nye officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
