Norman E. Walton, age 92 formerly of rural LaRue, Ohio died at 5:57 P.M., Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on November 5, 1928 in Smithville, Ohio to B.F. and Mabel (Everhart) Walton. He married Marjorie (Gregg) Walton on June 11,1950 and she survives.
Surviving are three sons, Douglas L. Walton, rural LaRue, Ohio, Michael W. (Kathy) Walton, rural LaRue, Ohio and Jon (Monica) Walton, Erie, Colorado. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Spencer (Melissa) Walton, Tom Walton, Lucas (Tatiana) Walton, Mark Walton and Sydney Walton plus two great-grandchildren, William and Aiden. Surviving is a sister, Rosella (Robert) Bear, rural LaRue, Ohio. Norman was preceded in death by a sister, Garland Pennington and three brothers, Clarence, J. Warren and Wayne Walton.
Norman was a retired farmer having worked for B.F. Walton and Sons Seed Company for twenty-five years and worked nineteen years in the Parts Department of Wyandot Tractor and Implement, Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
He was a 1946 graduate of Sycamore High School, was a member of the Marseilles United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years, was a Sunday School Superintendent and served on other various committees within the church. Norman was a member of the former Marseilles Chapter # 515 F&A.M. which currently combined with the Upper Sandusky Masonic Lodge and was a member of Kenton Chapter of the Order of Eastern Stars. He also was a past member of the Marion County Farm Bureau. Norman was a former high school basketball official for many years and he and Marjorie served as Red Coats for The Ohio State University Football and Boys and Girls Basketball programs for many years.
For hobbies, Norman loved to play basketball, softball, bowling and was an avid tennis and golf player, but really just enjoyed spending time with his family.
A funeral service for Norman will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Marseilles United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Pummell officiating. Burial will follow at Fehl Cemetery, Marseilles Township. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Bringman-Clark & Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, Ohio and from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Saturday prior to the funeral service at the church.
