Owen “Ohly” Ohl Jr., age 81 of 9744 County Highway 111, Upper Sandusky, Ohio died at 8:20 A.M., Friday, April 9, 2021 at home. He was born on May 16, 1939 in Crawford County, Ohio to Owen F. and Dorothy (Dutcher) Ohl. He married Darla (Bare) Ohl on August 20, 1988 and she survives.                                   

Surviving are the following children, Gina (Randy) Shepherd, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Venisha McKee, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Kelley (Ray) Brown, rural Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Rhonda Jane (Brad) Ellerbrock, Vanlue, Ohio and Toni (Alan) Courtright rural Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He also is survived by ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild plus one brother, Albert (Blanche) Ohl, rural Sycamore, Ohio and one sister, Norma Babcock, Tiffin, Ohio. Owen was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers, Donald and Bill Ohl and a brother-in-law, Raymond Babcock besides his parents. 

Owen worked in maintenance for forty-one years at the former A.O. Smith, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was the owner of De’ Ohl Nut Company for thirty plus years, was a 1957 graduate of Sycamore High School and a former member of Plankton United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Sycamore American Legion Post # 250, member of the Upper Sandusky Moose Lodge # 1093 and the Eagles Club in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was a former member of the VFW Post # 2842 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and currently was a member of the Indian Mill Antique Tractor Association. Owen also served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959. 

For hobbies, he collected Allis-Chalmer Tractors, loved to fish and work in his garden. He loved to watch The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. Later in life he loved to color pictures with colored pencils.                                                                                                                                                                               

A graveside service for Owen will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Kristin Buchs officiating. The Sycamore American Legion Post will conduct a military graveside service. The family would like to invite anyone to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Moose Lodge in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
