Raymond D Luhring

Raymond D. Luhring, age 83 of 7731 South State Route 67, Sycamore, Ohio died at 9:30 A.M., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was born November 18, 1934 in Arcadia, Ohio to Earl L. and Virginia (McDaniel) Luhring. He married Alice M. (Morter) Luhring on April 4, 1954 at the Melmore United Methodist Church and she died October 15, 2016.                                                         

He is survived by the following children; Michael (Karen) Luhring, Tiffin, Ohio, Douglas (Sherry) Luhring, Tiffin, Ohio, Stephen Luhring, Melmore, Ohio, Karen (Donald) Daniel, rural Tiffin, Ohio, Terry Luhring, Sylvania, Ohio, Vicki (Gene) Daniel rural Tiffin, Ohio, Sherry (Jeffrey) DeMars, Cape Coral, Florida and Roger (Brenda) Luhring, rural Sycamore, Ohio. Also surviving are twenty-five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one brother, Karl (Laura) Luhring, West Salem, Ohio. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Richard and Charles Luhring.                                                                                                               

Ray was a retired dairy farmer and also worked at National Machinery, Umbaugh Pole Building, Tiffin Wire and Cable, Webster Manufacturing and also was a retired Mohawk School Bus Driver. He was a 1952 graduate of Melmore High School, member of the Melmore United Methodist Church where he was a past Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School teacher, was a former member of the Wyandot Squares and a member of the Tiffin T Squares, was a past president of the Mohawk Athletic Boosters, former 4-H advisor for the Eden Dairy 4-H club, member of the Seneca County Jr. Fair Foundation, member of Ohio Ag Services and a member of the National Holstein Association. For hobbies he loved to collect John Deere toy tractors and enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren’s sporting events.                          

Funeral services for Ray will be held at 11:00 A.M, Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Melmore United Methodist Church with Pastor Amy Vittorio officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Rock Creek Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio.
