Robert Gaietto Obituary

Robert D. “Bob” Gaietto, age 67 of Sycamore, Ohio died at 11:29 A.M., Monday, August 2, 2021 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born on May 18, 1954 in Tiffin, Ohio to Vincent J. and Margaret M. (Tiell) Gaietto. He married Terry (Gongwer) Gaietto on April 28, 1979 and she died November 28, 2014.                                                                              

Surviving are a daughter, Jamie (Curtis) Shane, Carey, Ohio, five sisters and three brothers, Carol (Charles) Clark, Galion, Ohio, Jane Carroll, Sylvania, Ohio, David (Diane) Gaietto, Auburn, Indiana, Vincent (Eileen) Gaietto, Tiffin, Ohio, Ann (Gregory) Waire, Tiffin, Ohio, Kenneth (Amy) Gaietto, Tiffin, Ohio, Kathleen (Anthony) Reser, Tiffin, Ohio and Christine (Ted) Lemmon, Milford, Ohio plus many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his wife and parents.                                                                  

Bob was a general laborer having worked at the former G E Plant, Tiffin, Ohio, Worthington Industries, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, American Standard, Tiffin, Ohio and retired from Toledo Mold and Die, Tiffin, Ohio. 

Bob was a 1972 graduate of Calvert High School, social member of the Sycamore American Legion Post # 250, member of the Fostoria Coin Club and former member of Seneca Hills Golf Club.                                               

Bob was an avid golfer for years. When it was 95 degrees outside you could find Bob on the golf course. He loved to collect any type of golf memorabilia and loved showing off his collection of thousands of logo golf balls. On April 12, 1992 Bob had a hole in one on #6 at Seneca Hills. When Bob wasn’t on the course he loved sitting on the back patio at his home chatting with friends and family around a fire or playing a game of euchre and showing off a few card tricks. Bob was loved by so many friends and family especially his daughter, Jamie who has so many fond memories of him which include camping at Indian Lake with family and friends where he loved to fish, swim and ride bikes. His words of wisdom and humor will be greatly missed.  

A funeral service for Bob will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
