Russell E. Smith

Russell E. Smith Jr., age 71 of rural Bloomville, Ohio died at 6:15 A.M., Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio. He was born on December 13, 1951 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Russell E. and Arlene M. (Crum) Smith Sr. They are both deceased. 

Surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Joe (Joyce) Smith, rural Bloomville, Ohio, Chuck (Michelle) Smith, rural Bloomville, Ohio, Cheryl Smith, Bucyrus, Ohio, Arnold (Barb) Smith, Attica, Ohio, Keith (Lisa) Smith, Attica, Ohio, Barbara (Ken) Lutz, Attica, Ohio, Sue (Tim) Stanley, Boiling Springs, South Carolina and Dave Smith, Attica, Ohio. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews and his best friend Jordy an Australian Shepherd.

Russell retired from Timken Roller Bearing after thirty years and also loved to farm. He was a member of the Chatfield Evangelical Church, 1970 graduate of Wynford High School, was a member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau, member of the Odd Fellows Lodge # 174, Melmore, Ohio and was a member of the NRA.

For hobbies, Russell loved to plant a garden and raise chickens and give the eggs away to people throughout the neighborhood.

Funeral services for Russell will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22,2023 at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Larry Bertsch officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Saturday, prior to the funeral service.
