Scott L. Hossler, aka Ripper and The Grizz, age 61, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 while on a hunting trip near McConnelsville, Ohio. He was born on February 27, 1962 in Tiffin, Ohio to LeRoy and Joan (Beck) Hossler. He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Martha “Marti” Martinez.

He is survived by two brothers, Chris (Barb) Hossler, rural Tiffin, Ohio, and Todd (May-Dong Mei Gao) Hossler, Lithia, Florida, and one sister, Terri (James) Davis, Tiffin, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott LeRoy Hossler Jr., who died on March 3, 2019, paternal grandparents, Guy and Doris Hossler, and maternal grandparents, Dorothy “Granny” Shaul and Carl Homler.  He also is survived by his beloved dog, Smokie.

Scott was a 1980 graduate of Mohawk High School, at one time drove truck for Joe Sauber, worked four years at Webster Industries in Tiffin, and 16 years for Precision Aggregate.

Scott was a member of the Sycamore American Legion Post #250, Carey Conservation Club, Moose Lodge #872, New Riegel, Ohio, and Fostoria United Sportsmen’s Club.

Scott could fix anything with a motor in it. He loved going riding on his Prowler with Marti and his dog. He was always “jukin” and enjoyed having beers with his family and friends. He loved to cook over the fire in the summertime, liked deer hunting with his brothers and friends, and he was also a good shuffleboard player.
