William E. Gingery, age 88 of rural Nevada, Ohio died at 7:10 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital Columbus, Ohio. He was born on September 10, 1936 in Benton, Ohio to Dorsey and Dorothy (Failor) Gingery. He married Judy (Mathews) Gingery on June 30, 1979 and she survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Hannah Gingery, and her fiancé, Jeremy Nichols, rural Nevada, Ohio, plus one sister, Mary Alice Gingery, Marysville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Gingery, and one sister, Diana Gingery.
William is retired from Timken in Bucyrus, Ohio after working for 39 years. He is a member of Wayside Chapel, Bucyrus and a graduate of Sycamore High School. He served in the Army post Korean Conflict.
Serving the Lord as the fix it guy at Wayside Chapel and School, Bill asked Jesus in his heart at Calvary Baptist and that’s where he started his walk with the Lord. He served faithfully at his church. Bill was always busy mowing yard, fixing things his daughter broke and helping others. He loved watching Cleveland sports and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Bill will have a graveside service Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Benton Cemetery, Crawford County with Pastor Jerrill Wyler officiating. The Sycamore American Legion Post will conduct a military graveside service.
